Trained as an Industrial designer, Akanksha has huge love for material and crafts. She sees design in its essence as a way to engage, channel and build something that defines our lives. She believes products are tangible documentation of materials, skills, narratives and practices across the years. With kilchu the aim is to create a platform for products that hold value in their making, in their expression or come to exist simply to generate livelihood. It started with a need to change the dialogue between the consumers and the product.
All packaging is plastic free or biodegradable. Opting for alternative packaging also implies higher costs for these brands.
All steps involved in creating the final product are done by hand. Utilising skills of artisans involved, makes each piece, one of a kind.
