Introducing

The Founders

Arshia Bhargava and Avishek Mandal  are the founders of this brand with a background in textile education from the National Instritute of Fashion Technology. Avishek comes from a weaver family and had seen the family looms being shut for years. The decision to start the brand was due to the hollowness & lack of evolution in the Indian Crafts.

Crafted in Jaipur, India

Meet the Makers

The brand works directly with different artisanalclusters from Rajasthan, West Bengal and Maharashtra. The Artisans for the hand block printing come from the Chippa Community in Bagru and the Kharadi community of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The brand does not negotiate with the artisans and provides a monthly remumeration paying them fairly for their craft.

The Process

It takes us around 10-15 days to create a single garment/product from scratch. The whole process of the fiber to fashion is invigilated by the brand where they keep track of the whole supply chain. This involves (1) The Process of Fabric Making (ginning, spinning, warping, weaving, washing/starching; 2 weavers weave 11-12 m of fabric in 4 days), (2) Block making and Printing (1 block is made in 3 days, Block Printing takes 8-10 hrs aday to print 36-40 m of fabric and Cutting and Stitching, which takes 12-15 hours; 1-2 people to complete a single garment with finishing.

Standards

An initiative to revive crafts and improve livlihoods by focusing on the handspun and handwoven techniques whilst sourcing indigenous wild cotton from rural farmers; everything from fibre to garment is traceable and transparent.
